I've already shared my experience with SEL (Social Emotional Learning). I had to work at it. I had to learn how to teach it. There was no class 20 years ago on how to deal with children in trauma or children in crisis.
Teaching children how to be thankful for everything or anything is crucial. If you ask the above mentioned set of children what they are thankful for, you probably would get "nothing" or "I don't know." When in reality with help, they probably can think of a thing or two.
So I created "The 10 days of thankfulness" journal. It can be used digitally or printed out. You could even use it as a whole class book. It is editable so you can copy and paste and add or subtract more days as needed. There is a bonus story prompt at the end about a nervous turkey at Thanksgiving time. It is also editable if you needed to modify it for your needs. It is fall themed using fall colors but not 100% Thanksgiving specific, so it can be used really the whole month.
Please, please let me know what you think or share any examples of it in action!
